APB is one of those games that during its early stage it looked extremely promising. It’s your classic cops vs. robbers style MMO that takes place in an urban playground full of guns, cars, and surprisingly detailed customization options. Of course, we all know that the game ended up doing somewhat poorly both commercially and critically. In response to that, some sneaky gamers ignited a rumor stating that the game’s developer Realtime Worlds was planning on shutting down the servers fairly soon. However, the company released a statement over the weekend stating that the speculation is indeed false. Gamespy reports that the company plans on continuing to support the game by developing certain fixes for the gameplay issues and has decided to let go a number of employees who worked on the title. Realtime Worlds has already pulled it’s 3 and 6 month subscription options off the game’s website, so positive changes might be happening soon for APB
