Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is out Wednesday, and people who love Achievements are likely longing for some sweet information about getting those delectable points. Fear not! NonsenseGamer has you covered. Below you’ll find a guide to getting your 200 G.
Bone Cold Justice (10G) - Defeat an enemy by hitting back a skeleton’s bone: You’ll have plenty of opportunity to do this right on the first level, as there are a few areas with skeletons standing in a row. Just jump and hit a bone into another enemy to kill it, and you’ll have the Achievement. Works particularly well as Alucard.
Boned (20G) – Defeat a boss with 5 players in skeleton form: This can be tricky; You’ll have to be playing with a full 6 people and have all but one die and return as skeletons. Defeat any boss with the 5 skeletons and 1 character, and you’ve got it.
Grasshopper (20G) – Jump kick 30 times in a row without touching the ground: Another one that is potentially difficult to pull off. Find a big open space, jump off, and begin kicking. After the boss breaks the floor in Chapter 1, you may be able to get back to the top and try from there to make your life a bit easier.
Grim Synergy (10G) - Defeat a boss using a Dual Crush: Weaken a boss until you think it is almost dead, then team up with another player and unleash your Dual Crush move on it. If the boss dies, you’ve got 10G.
Hunter Legend (30G) - Complete Hard Mode: Just what it sounds like, but it’s no small feat. You’ll have to work for these 30G. Good luck!
Lifeguard (10G) - Bring a comrade back from the dead: Another simple one. Ally dies, you use Water of Life to revive them, 10G.
Pack Rat (20G) – Collect 300 different types of items: Just pick up everything you see and eventually you’ll get there. Keep in mind that you have to have all 300 at once (I believe) so keep one of everything when you are selling items to the shop.
Poetic Justice (15G) - Defeat an ally who has been seduced by the enemy: Some enemies can seduce characters and take them over. When this happens to an ally, defeat him/her for 15G.
Slaughtervania (20G) -Rack up 10,000 enemy kills: This one will naturally come to you if you just continue to play for a while. 10,000 seems like a lot, but if you like the game enough you’re certain to get this Achievement before you know it.
Slick Kick (10G) – Defeat a boss using sliding: The more difficult version of Grim Synergy. Wait until you are convinced that a boss is near death and slide into them for the kill. If it doesn’t work, try again. I recommend bringing along some healing items.
Vampire Hunter (15G) – Destroy the lord of Castlevania: Easy to understand. Beat the final boss, 15G.
Wicked Deep Pockets (20G) – Amass 1,000,000 gold: Kill every enemy, open every chest, and grab every bit of gold you see. This Achievement, along with Slaughtervania and Pack Rat will come to you in time as long as you keep them in mind. Remember that you have to have all 1,000,000 gold at one time, and you’ll likely be spending a fair bit on items and gear. Don’t worry so much about getting this one right away, as your characters get stronger you’ll spend less. Save those pennies for 20G.
There you have it. With a bit of time and effort, the 200G hidden in this Arcade gem can be yours! Happy hunting.
