EA have recently confirmed the release date for the upcoming Mass Effect 2 on Sony’s black box. According to IGN the game will be released on the 18th January in the US and the 21st January in Europe.
Seeing as the original Mass Effect will remain exclusively on the Xbox 360, the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 will come with an interactive comic, detailing the events of the previous game, in which players will be able to make key choices before they jump into the main game.
What’s more is that PS3 owners will also be getting all of the DLC released up until this point. Included in the package is Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armour. Plus on the Cerberus Network you’ll be able to get the Zaeed and Firewalker content.

Currently playing this on the 360 and it’s amazing. 100 times better than the first one. It’s such a fantastic blend of Action and RPG genres, it’s the first time in a long time I’ve been compelled to complete a game 100%.
So it’s fantastic the PS3 bunch will be able to get the whole game and the DLC included.

ahem ME1 exists on PC as well(not the best port but it works), interactive comic sounds like an interesting way to do it.

, Well spotted. I think it’s because I associate Microsoft so closely with both the PC and 360, it’s generally the rule that if a game comes out on one, it’ll come out on the other. But Microsoft do hold the rights to Mass Effect 1, so it’ll be interesting to see how the comic plays out.
