INOE Technologies, a company I can find surprisingly little about on the internet, yesterday announced they’d developed and patented a technique that allows them to stream 4D videos over the internet.
This will let you pick your angle to the event you’re watching, your angle will then affect the way you hear and see things. The exact examples used are sporting events and concerts, letting you immerse yourself in the experience of being in the audience of either but from the comfort of your own home.
We’ll likely have to wait a few years before this technology has any use for a regular person,I can’t imagine any of this stuff is cheap. However, how much more satisfying would knifing Russians become in Call of Duty if you were THAT immersed in it all?
