Numerous sources have today revealed that if you want to load the latest Gran Turismo onto your hard drive, you better make some room. With reports coming in that the install size is around the 7GB mark and that the installation could take anything up to 40 minutes, this optional extra might be used only by the most hardcore of fans.
There are a couple of important additionals. The first is that apparently you can continue to play the game while it installs, which is a nice move. The second is that people are claiming that that 40 minute mark is a little high.
Without a copy, it’s hard to say – but beware if you planned to install and only have a small hard drive.

Perhaps they thought that releasing it this November was a little too kind. I mean, it’s not like GT fans will care, right? You can’t still be excited and not have a patience slightly greater than a saint.

@Tom Chudley, I feel it would have been a huge problem if it was forced and if it couldn’t be done while playing.
Can you imagine some ardent fan who had been waiting 5 years for the game, brings it home, settles in with a glass of wine and…
Install. 40 minutes remaining.

@Mat Growcott, I think we all know that you shouldn’t drink and drive.

A., Didn’t GTA IV prove that SO wrong? Trying to walk to your car door and falling over with rag doll legs, smashing Nico’s face on the hood in the process was comedy gold.

Yeah I read it was 40-50 minute install. Sucks but the game is worth the wait
